Thanks Joseph_S. All other videos work fine, YouTube, Showtime, AppleTV+,ABC, NBC, Fox etc. With HBO Max I can log in fine and actually can view trailers but when I choose any movie I get three dots blinking and then the error message: can’t play title. We are having trouble playing this video. Please try again later.

- Cannot watch rented movies in my libraryHello! I have a 2013 16 inch Macbook Pro, all software is updated. I'm having problems watching purchased or rented library movies directly on the computer. We often download movies to watch at a site with limited Wifi. Lately, all of my rented movies do not work. They don't even play even if not downloaded. My computer is authorized to play. I tried clearing my Play History AppleTV cache (as per Apple Insider Ap 5, 2021, who noted that the program seems to be buggy), but that did not help. I can play the movies on my iPhone. I would concur there is a software issue, as noted by the user GlowCreate last year. As with GlowCreate, the movie plays on my iPhone, just not on the Macbook. If I X out of the movie on iPhone, though, and go back to the computer, it still doesn't play. Can anyone help, please? Thank you so much in advance! 3022

Hello astromary,
To help isolate the issue further, do you notice if the same issue and error appears if your Mac is connected to a different Wi-Fi or internet network? If so, and the issue only occurs with HBO Max then reaching out to the website developer is the right course of action. You can find their support information via the HBOmax Help Center website.
Take care!

Thanks Todd0213! The HBOmax center worked! I found a setting called "Auto-play" under "Settings for this website" in Safari that was set to "stop media with sound" that needed to be changed to "allow all autoplay" Cheers!

Hi astromary,
HBO Max is a great service, and it sounds as though videos aren't loading through their website on your MacBook Air. When having issues with the videos are you receiving any error message, and have you tested other streaming services to see if the issue continues such as on YouTube?
Although the website may be loading, but since videos aren't the following article may help with resolving the issue.
If you can't open a website in Safari on Mac
Have a great day!
